Employment Specialist

ESW Occupational Services – a non-profit agency in Edison, NJ provides work opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities for over 40 years. 

Qualifications: B.A. in Human Services or related field and a minimum of one- year related experience preferred or A.A. in Human Services and at least 2 years of related experience.

Excellent time management skills, interpersonal skills, organizational skills. oral and written communication skills and flexibility are required. Clean driver’s license and record required.  Needs to be willing to use own vehicle, with expense reimbursement to travel to client’s residence and job worksites in Middlesex County, NJ.  Must be able to pass a drug test and criminal background check.  Bilingual preferred.   

Position Duties:

• Conduct an intake interview for each participant
• Develop an Individualized Employment Plan based on client’s interests, abilities and strengths.
• Track progress of goals and review and revise plan quarterly
• Provide one-on-one instruction on activities such as: resume writing, interviewing skills, transportation training, job search activities as well as career exploration
• Complete activity log and counseling entries at the completion of every meeting with client
• Complete monthly progress report at the end of each month.
• Performs on-site job coaching after successful placement, as needed, and maintain accurate and detailed records of site visits.
• Provide case management and maintain client files.
• Performs job development in the community, to generate new and varied job opportunities.
• Speaks to business representatives in the community to inform them of the services available to them and the advantages of hiring agency participants.
• Attend conferences, meetings, networking events, trade shows & training sessions as assigned.
• Must be available evenings and weekends, as needed, for site visits to worksites.
• 35 hr. work week, excellent benefits (PTO, paid holidays, health, dental, vision & 401k plan) EOE.
